Rez Archives – DVcrew Scotland

Rezerection was a legendary rave series that took place at the Royal Highland Showground in Edinburgh during the 1990s. It was one of Scotland’s most iconic dance events, bringing together thousands of ravers for nights of high-energy music and unforgettable atmospheres. Rezerection was founded by Paul Ludford, who had previously been involved with Kitchenware Records in the north-east of England. The event quickly grew into a massive phenomenon, attracting some of the biggest names in electronic music.

DJs & Music Styles

Rezerection featured a mix of hardcore, techno, trance, and gabber, with both UK and international artists gracing its stages. Some of the most notable DJs who played at Rezerection included:

Major Events

Rezerection hosted several landmark events, including:

The Event (1993) – The first outdoor Rezerection rave, featuring The Prodigy, Dream Frequency, Rat Pack, Easygroove, Seduction, and Marc Smith.
The Event 2 (1994) – A bigger and better-organized outdoor rave with around 16,000 hardcore ravers.
The Event 3 – The Equinox (1995) – A 20-hour rave with 47 artists performing across two massive arenas.

Aside from Paul Ludford, Rezerection had a dedicated team working behind the scenes to ensure the events ran smoothly. This included promoters, sound engineers, lighting technicians, security teams, and stage designers who helped create the immersive rave experience that made Rezerection legendary.

Rezerection played a huge role in shaping Scotland’s rave culture and remains a cherished memory for those who experienced it. We filmed at various Rezerection’s throughout the 90’s and we have rescued as many of the original dv and hi8 tapes as possible as well as hours of dat audio.
